ODD
Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Children with this disorder show defiant behavior that is significantly
more severe than peers of the same age and developmental level.
These children are often labeled as troublemakers or spoiled brats. They
have difficulity in school and with friends. There is some evidence that a child with ODD has
been previously diagnosed with ADHD. This is true in some cases, but not all.
There is evidence that, untreated, ODD leads to CD. Sometimes there is another
behavioral disorder present, such as
depression or ADHD (or both). This is co-morbidity and more about this can be found
at Pediatric Psychiatry Pamphlets.
Some doctors believe that a child can have
both ODD and Bipolar together but others think the "ODD" is only a component of
the manic phase of Bipolar. See the section on Bipolar.
